Covid-19 protocols
Exceed Women’s Running Group wants to make our 2022 season as safe as possible during the ongoing pandemic. Although we cannot remove all risk, we hope our actions will provide all members with options to participate that meet their comfort levels.
In-person memberships are available for the 2022 season. All members will receive an email of the week’s workout on Sunday or Monday. All members can choose whether they would like to attend virtual or Tuesday in-person practices for any given week.
By becoming a member of the 2022 Exceed Women’s Running Group, you are agreeing to abide by Exceed policies, including those outlined below.

By becoming a member of the 2022 Exceed Women’s Running Group, you are agreeing to abide by Exceed policies, including those outlined below.
Each member will be expected to adhere to the following:
- Sign in for all practices that you attend in-person.
- Stay home if you have tested positive for COVID-19, are waiting on test results or are quarantining following an exposure.
- Self-screen for symptoms prior to coming to practice (self-screening tool is available at the end of this page). Stay home if you’re sick.
- Bring your own water bottle and do not share with others.
- Social distance by staying at least 6 feet (about 2 arm lengths) from other members when possible.
- Wear a mask that covers your nose and mouth when not running. We encourage you to continue to wear a mask when running if you’re able.
- Clean or sanitize your hands before and after practices.
- Notify a board member if you test positive for COVID-19 and believe you attended a practice while infectious. You can also email RunExceedAK AT gmail.com
- Practice good respiratory hygiene; cover coughs and sneezes, do not spit, etc.
- We recommend you follow current state health advisories related to travel if you return to Alaska. This may include recommendations for testing or quarantine based on your individual circumstance. Health advisories can be accessed on the State of Alaska website https://covid19.alaska.gov/health-advisories/
Exceed Women’s Running Group responsibilities for the 2022 season:
- Track attendance at all practices.
- Provide limited amounts of hand sanitizer and masks in case members forget to bring their own (please plan to bring your own).
- In the event a member tests positive for COVID-19, we will alert those in close contact to the possible exposure (members in attendance at a specific practice) so that they can quarantine. We will NOT share that members personal information with anyone else in the Exceed group.
- Depending on the workout, we will place runners in pods of the same pace group to minimize contact with others.
- Assess risk to participants and cancel in-person practices if risk levels become too high. If practices are cancelled, workouts will continue to be sent to all members via email.
- Update policies as needed using recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Alaska Department of Health and Social Services, and the Municipality of Anchorage.
Self-Screening Tool
Complete weekly prior to attending an Exceed practice. If you answer yes to any of the questions, please do not attend an in-person practice.
